         WAITING FOR GODOT Paris 2007                                   Since publisher John Calder, and I formed the GODOT COMPANY in 2003.  This was a hugely enjoyable experiment: rehearsing and performing this supremely humane play according to Beckett's own directions from the notebooks to his own Schiller Theatre production. We toured the London fringe from the Southwark Playhouse to the Tricycle Theatre, to the Traverse in Edinburgh and the Irish Institute in Paris.  We had the support of Edward Beckett, Billie Whitelaw and Jim Knowlson (Beckett's friend and biographer).The BOOKSHOP THEATRE  developed out of our experience. We raised the money, built the stage and produced the work in Waterloo at 51 the Cut and at the Cockpit Theatre Marylebone. .
